JonRoss Richardson has been leading Lapel all season. In the biggest game of the season, it was no different as Richardson led Lapel to the school's second state title. Here's how it went down on Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Lapel scored the first six points of the game. Howe never found its rhythm in the game. JonRoss Richardson helped get extra shots as neither team was hitting shots early in the game. He had four points and five rebounds in the opening quarter.

Lapel did a great job of making Howe work for every shot. Brian Warren entered the game averaging 23 points for Howe. Lapel held him to 11 points on 5-19 shooting for the game. They held Howe to 6-28 shooting as a team in the first half. The strong defense allowed Lapel to open up an insurmountable lead.

The Bulldogs led 33-15 at halfime.

Lapel kept the pressure on Howe after halftime as well. The Bulldogs never allowed Howe to make a serious run to take the lead in the game. In fact, Lapel held the lead for all 32 minutes on Saturday.

Richardson had a fantastic performance. He finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Richardson wasn't the only Bulldog that had a big game. Triston Carpenter nearly had a double-double as well – 12 points, nine rebounds. Kamron Herrington was the third Lapel player in double figures with 11.

Lapel coasted to its second state title. Lapel and coach Jimmie Howell won the state championship in 2005 as well.
