Lawrence Central's Kyle Guy was named the 2016 Indiana Mr. Basketball at the Indy Star's Indiana Sports Awards. The other Mr. Basketball finalists were Joey Brunk and C.J. Walker. Here's more on Kyle Guy winning Mr. Basketball.

Kyle Guy averaged 23.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game as a senior against the toughest schedule in Indiana high school basketball. Lawrence Central played 16 games against the top 25 teams in the Sagarin Ratings. Guy was consistent game in, game out like he has been throughout his high school career. He led Lawrence Central to a 19-7 record as a senior.

Guy was the only McDonald's All-American from Indiana this season. Recent McDonald's All-Americans from Indiana include Caleb Swanigan, Trey Lyles, Demetrius Jackson, Yogi Ferrell, Gary Harris, Marquis Teague, and Cody Zeller.

Kyle Guy is the first winner from Lawrence Central High School. Guy is heading to the University of Virginia for his college basketball. That means that four of the last five Mr. Basketball winners have gone to out of state schools.
