Hamilton Southeastern used a late three-pointer by Aaron Etherington to force overtime then beat North Side 75-67.

Key Stretch

Late in regulation, Austin Boucher drove the lane before finding an open Lucas Kroft under the basket. It looked like it would be an easy bucket. The shot rolled off the rim and Hamilton Southeastern cleared the rebound. That would have given North Side plenty of breathing room with 70 seconds left.

Standout Players

Hamilton Southeastern received timely production from a handful of players. Nick Bowman carried the offense early in the game. Noah Smith took the baton in the middle quarters with his attacking style. Mabor Majak was excellent in the paint on both ends of the court. He also made big free throws late in the game. Chaz Birchfield rebounded at a high level and defended Keion Brooks well. Aaron Etherington was clutch late. He had the three-pointer to send the game into overtime then extended the lead in overtime for HSE.

Austin Boucher had a strong game for North Side. The senior guard had 18 points on 7-10 shooting. He was the most consistent option for North Side.

Keion Brooks finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. But it took him 21 field goal attempts and he had nine turnovers in the game.

Surprises

The efficiency and free throw shooting of Nick Bowman and Mabor Majak really helped Hamilton Southeastern stay in the game. The duo scored 30 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the field and 12 of 13 from the free throw line. Those two were huge in the victory.
