Aaron Henry poured in 45 points with 12 rebounds in his only game of the week, and the Ben Davis senior paces the honorees in this week’s IBCA/Subway Player of the Week program.
The 6-6 Henry erupted in the second half to keep the Ben Davis boys in the game against Hamilton Heights Christian Academy of Tennessee, but the Giants (5-2) dropped a 77-74 decision despite his 45 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in their only game of the week. The
Michigan State recruit made 16-of-23 field goals, 2-of-5 3-pointers and 11-of-15 free throws.
Newman shined in a losing effort for the
Valparaiso boys (6-1) in their only game of the week. The 6-4 guard poured in 33 points with 14 rebounds, one assist and two steals as the Vikings fell 68-63 to
Fort Wayne North. Newman was 11-of-24 from the floor, 4-of-7 from 3-point range and 7-of-10 from the line for his big game.
The 6-4 Coyle averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to propel the Bloomington South boys (9-1) to a 4-0 week. He opened with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 62-33 victory over Bloomfield. Coyle tallied 27 points with seven rebounds and three assists as the Panthers beat Lowell 64-31, then netted 23 points with nine rebounds and three assists in a 63-43 triumph over Marquette Catholic. He produced 26 points with seven rebounds, two assists and three steals in a 60-45 decision over
Evansville Harrison.

Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program and the sixth season it is presented by Subway Restaurants of
