Guerin Catholic used a fast start and hot shooting to take down sectional rival Chatard, 69-47.

Key Stretch

Guerin Catholic set the tone with an 11-0 start. Zach Munson and Jack Hansen took the ball to the basket with great success. That continued for most of the game as Munson and Hanson combined for 33 points. Chatard had a few spurts when they forced Guerin into turnovers, but the Trojans could never get close enough to tie the game.

Standout Players

Zach Munson was really aggressive on the offensive end. He finished 8-10 from the field for 16 points. He took advantage of his size against the smaller Chatard frontline.

Jack Hansen was in control throughout the game. It seemed like he could score or create shots for others whenever he wanted. Hansen finished with 17 points.

Kian Sills was strong in all areas of the game. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds, four steals and five assists. His length caused problems for the Chatard guards on both ends of the floor.

Edreece Redmond's slashing helped create opportunities for Chatard. He finished with 11 points on 4-11 shooting. It wasn't his most efficient game, but the Chatard offense didn't have much rhythm against Guerin's size.

Surprises

Chatard entered the night with a 7-3 record. It looked like it would be a close game on paper. That didn't turn out to be the case as Guerin had an eFG% of 68% for the game. It is hard to beat a team that shoots that well.

Next Up

Guerin travels to Fort Wayne to face Bishop Luers Saturday. Chatard returns to action Tuesday against Indianapolis Northwest.
