Heritage Christian gave Tindley a test, but Eric Hunter and Sincere McMahon were too much for the Eagles. Tindley advanced to the Indianapolis City Tournament semifinals with the 71-57 victory.

Key Stretch

Heritage Christian held a one-point lead after the first quarter. Tindley turned the heat up immediately in the second period. Tindley began the quarter by scoring eight straight points. Heritage Christian didn't lead the rest of the game. Sincere McMahon and Eric Hunter led the way for the Tigers. The duo scored 27 points in the first half to give Tindley breathing room at halftime.

Standout Players

Eric Hunter was able to do whatever he wanted. He started the game 3-3 and didn't slow down much from there. The Purdue-bound guard finished with 27 points and eight rebounds. Hunter was 10-15 from the field and also had three steals and three assists. It was a dominant showing.

Sincere McMahon lived at the free throw line in the first half. McMahon ended up 9-12 from the line for the game on his way to 21 points. The sophomore added three steals as well.

KJ Coleman was strong in the fourth quarter. He tallied most of his 14 points in the final period. Coleman was 4-7 from the field and 4-4 from the line.

Andrew Williams created a large portion of the offense for Heritage Christian. His start-and-stop ball-handling keeps quicker defenders off balance. The junior guard finished with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Zach Meus and Harrison Eckel were on the receiving end of the set-up passes from Williams. Eckel finished with 12 points on 5-8 shooting while Meus ended with eight points. Meus and Eckel each had five rebounds as well.

Surprises

Although it didn't play a factor in the outcome, it was surprising that Tindley finished with more turnovers than Heritage Christian. I recorded 11 turnovers for Tindley to HC's nine.
