Gary Wallace

Charles Cooper, 6-3 SF 2013, had a classic Cooper performance. He is well built and athletic. He had a great dunk in transition against a defender. His shot is streaky at best as he is very inconsistent with his release. He is definitely best around the basket for rebounding and scoring. Cooper does have the ability to defend on the perimeter, but his ball-handling needs work.

Travon Boddie, 5-11 PG 2013, was really good in transition against Marshall. He was able to beat defenders down the floor a few times for lay-ups. His shot is not bad. Boddie looks like a D3 prospect.

Keontae Bridges, 6-1 SG 2014, did not have much production against Marshall. He has a chance because of his length and athleticism plus he can play some point. He’s a possible small college prospect next year.

John Marshall

Davone Daniels, 6-0 SG 2014, shot the ball really well from the outside against Gary Wallace. He had a game-high 30 points. He has good rotation on his shot although it is a bit of a low release. He has good length as well. He is on the thin side right now. This is the first time seeing Daniels, but it looks like he has a chance to be a low-major prospect.

Demetrius Anderson, 6-0 SG 2013, good athlete and is a good slasher. His shot is very poor though. He could possibly help some NAIA teams or junior college programs.

Nigel Robinson, 6-3 SF 2015, limited production, but played with energy and looks like a good athlete. We will track him down the road.

Milwaukee Vincent

Deonte Burton, 6-5 SG 2013, was a man among boys. Burton is 6-5 and built like an NFL tight end, but also quick and explosive off the floor. He likely had the highlight dunk of the event when he “posterized” an Attucks defender on a fast break. Burton handled the ball well and is very quick with his crossover. He should be very good at Marquette.

Ronald Singleton, 6-7 PF 2013, looks like a player, but did not have much production. He has good length and can move well enough laterally to defend on the perimeter. His stat line was underwhelming against a very small Indianapolis Crispus Attucks team.

Marcus White, 6-6 SF 2014, has a good build and, like Singleton, moves well laterally. White did not put up any numbers in the game against Attucks.

Jabari Hobson, 6-2 G 2013, big guard that could do many things on the court. He knocked down some 3s against Attucks, and was also able to get to the basket. He was beat off the dribble a few times on the defensive end. He’s likely a small college candidate.

Crispus Attucks

Jamario Wann, PG 5-10 2013, very crafty in the lane. He hit a couple of tough floaters. He is also a pretty good shooter although he was just 0-3 from beyond the arc against Milwaukee Vincent. Wann is a D3 prospect.

Darrell Hutchenson, 6-3 PF 2015, undersized post player that was very effective against the taller and more athletic Milwaukee Vincent players. He is not a very good athlete. If he grows a couple more inches, he could be a D3 prospect.

Fort Wayne North Side

Mike Davis, 6-4 SF 2014, strong and a decent athlete. He has a nice reverse finish around the basket. This was the first time seeing Davis. Nothing really stood out about his game though. He’s not really explosive off the dribble or off the floor. He doesn’t shoot it at a high-rate. His frame is the best thing going for him.

Sean McGee, 6-0 PG 2015, has good size and length for a point guard. He has solid quickness, both laterally and off the dribble. His outside shot is inconsistent. He ended up with 10 points against Howe, but it was all after the game was decided. McGee must improve his skill set to be a D1 prospect.

Oosha Mitchell, 6-5 PF 2014, strong, played with a lot of energy, but not a great athlete for an undersized post. He struggled to finish at the rim all game against Howe. Mitchell looks like a small college prospect.

Trevion Crews, 6-0 PG 2014, quiet game for Crews in the blow-out win. He did show off great quickness. He also showed off good ball-handling ability. Crews is likely a good small college prospect with a chance to be a low D1 prospect if he continues to improve.

Dwight Richards, 6-5 PF 2013, had a monster game against Howe. He’s very strong and built like a tight end. He doesn’t move exceptionally well and he’s not a great leaper. Richards could help most small college teams with his strength and toughness.

Detroit Consortium

Vincent Hunter, 6-8 PF 2013, very good athlete and has a good frame that will allow him to add muscle easily. He only took 7 shots against Evansville Harrison. He was able to go 5-6 from the line and 1-2 from 3. It looks like he just needs a little refinement and he could be a beast at UTEP.

Josh Jackson, 6-6 SF 2016, the talented freshman struggled shooting the ball against Harrison. He was just 1-6 from 3 and 3-10 overall. His shot was very flat all night. He was in some foul trouble. With his size, length, athleticism, and versatile skill set already, he will end up being very good.

Evansville Harrison

Ernie Duncan, 6-2 PG 2014, played a great game despite just having 10points. He also had 6 assists in a low-scoring game. He controls the game on the offensive end. Detroit played a zone most of the game and he just moved the defenders the way he wanted to with his pass fakes and look-off passes. He also shots the ball well. Duncan should be a very solid mid-major player.

Everett Duncan, 6-5 SG 2015, did not have the huge game that Stanley had, but he was very good. He had 12 points along with a few assists and rebounds. He was able to get to the basket after a defender closed out too aggressively. He also handled the ball well enough to break pressure. Ball-handling is something that Everett and Stanley must improve to be D1 players.

Stanley Duncan, 6-4 SG 2015, had 25 points against Detroit Constortium. He made some great cuts to the basket and his brothers Ernie and Everett made great passes numerous times to find him. Stanley and his twin, Everett, have received the reputation of “just” being great shooters. That is not the case though. They both are excellent off the ball and are intelligent players overall. Everett and Stanley need to get stronger, but they are definitely more than catch and shoot players.

Duran Miller, 5-10 G 2013, was on the receiving end of many set-ups from the Duncan trio. I liked Miller over the summer. He’s a tough guard that has pretty good quickness. He could be a very good small college player.

Brownsburg

K.J. Walton, 6-2 SG 2015, had a solid game against Bowman. He was 5-11 from the field and 5-5 from the line for 15 points. Ball-handling and outside shooting are only mediocre right now.

Xavier Ringo, 5-9 PG 2014, struggled big-time with 7 turnovers and had terrible body language after he was benched. He is a flash in the open court, but has had a rough season. He will likely be a junior college prospect.

Kyle Thompson, 6-7 PF 2014, has been rebounding pretty this year. He had 7 against Bowman. He is not an offensive threat though. He’s not polished from the block. He is streaky from 15-20 feet. D3 prospect at best right now.

Trevor Lucas, 5-11 PG 2014, struggled to finish around the basket against Bowman. Lucas was just 2-8 around the basket. He’s a good small college prospect with his quickness and shooting ability.

Darrian Ringo, 6-0 PG 2015, played very limited minutes against Bowman. His on-ball defense is game-changing though.

Bowman Academy

Justin King, 6-6 PF 2014, had a solid game against Brownsburg with his 16 points and 8 rebounds. He’s definitely a tweener by his own doing. He wants to be a small forward and does not have the skill set to play on the perimeter. He is a good athlete and has good length. King must develop a consistent jumper to be a mid-major prospect.

Davon Dillard, 6-4 SF 2015, had 17 points against Brownsburg. He was just 1-6 from outside of the lane though. Dillard is a great athlete with a great frame for a sophomore. His perimeter skills need work to be mid-major or higher.

Arthur Haggard, 6-3 SG 2014, can get shots up in a hurry. He came off the bench, but was able to get 12 shots up on his way to 13 points against Brownsburg. He’s likely a small college prospect with an outside chance to be low-major.

East St. Louis

Deshawn Munson, 6-4 SG 2013, was a one-man show for East St. Louis. The talented, senior guard did a little bit of everything. He brought the ball up the floor. He rebounded at a high level, and he was the main scoring option. Munson is very athletic, and was able to get to the basket whenever he wanted against Pike. His outside shooting form leaves a lot to be desired. It seemed to be better off the dribble than off the catch though. Munson was just 1-5 from the line on his way to a game-high 31 points.

Trader’s Point

Nick Rogers, 6-0 PG 2015, had a rough night against Chicago De La Salle. He was 2-10 from beyond the arc and 5-17 overall. He’s very quick off the dribble. Rogers must take care of the ball better and improve his decision making.

Milos Kostic, 6-7 PF 2013, rebounded better than I’ve ever seen him rebound. He has 10 rebounds against Chicago De La Salle, a team with decent size. He had 10 points in the game. All his points were in the lane. He did not get to the free-throw line and was 0-4 from 3. I don’t think his skill set is anywhere near good enough to make up for his lack of athleticism.

Christian Sikoski, 6-3 SG 2013, just had 4 points on 2-6 shooting. He’s a D3 prospect with decent size for a shooting guard, not a very good athlete.

Cody Young, 6-5 PF 2013, had 12 points on 14 shots. He is an ok outside shooter, but is not quick enough to go off the dribble. D3 prospect.

Christian Bridwell, 6-6 PF 2015, limited production against De La Salle. He’s not a very good athlete and he does not move very well laterally on the perimeter. He re-classified this year from the 2014 class. He’ll likely end up as a small college prospect.

Chicago De La Salle

Alvin Ellis, 6-3 SG Chicago De La Salle 2013, smooth shooter and scorer basically sums up Ellis. He is a great outside shooter. He can shoot off the dribble or off the catch equally well. If defenders close-out too aggressively, he will attack the basket. Ellis also rebounded well for a guard Saturday against Trader’s Point. He’s not an elite athlete like a Deonte Burton, but seems to know the game along with angles to make up for his athleticism. Ellis will play for Minnesota next season. {/iACL}
