| In a shocking move, the head coach position of Ohio State is now open. OSU AD Gene Smith cited offseason issues as to why the Buckeyes were making a change. The offseason saw many players leave the program. That has been a trend for tOSU in recent years. 2018 recruit Darius Bazley de-committed then said that the future Ohio State roster was not built to win while he was in college. It sounds like those things played a major part in the change. Matta said they were fighting a lot of negativity this spring and he realized they needed a change. Where do the Buckeyes turn? The obvious candidates are Chris Mack and Chris Holtmann. Previously, it seemed like Archie Miller was going to be the next coach at Ohio State. With Miller taking the Indiana job this spring, it seems like that is unlikely to happen. |

| Chris Holtmann has taken the Ohio State job. He was mentioned in many high-major jobs of late including North Carolina State. He should do really well at Ohio State. He has relationships with Ohio people already. Holtmann has a great temperament for a major job, I don't think he will be overwhelmed by it. |
