Although the high school season is now complete, recruiting is just picking up for small colleges. There are still many valuable prospects left from D1 to D3. The available point guards left in the state for the 2013 class are headlined by Jalen James, Andrew Dakich, Taishaun Johnson and B.J. Jenkins. Here are the other top un-committed senior point guards along with their information.

Carmel repeated as 4A state champions with their 57-53 victory over Indianapolis Cathedral. Carmel jumped out to a 21-6 lead, but Cathedral was within one possession with under a minute to play. Michael Volovic led Carmel with 19 points and 7 assists. He was joined in double figures by James Crowley (14 points) and Ryan Cline (11 points). Cathedral was led by Jalen Coleman's 15 points. Garrett Hall added 14.

Cathedral enters the 4A state championship game on a 19-game winning streak. The last nine of those wins have without senior point guard Mo Evans, while junior Justin Baker has missed the last eight. Evans is a signee to IPFW. Cathedral was playing as well as any team in the state before the suspensions of their point guards. They might be playing even better without them.

With the high school season now complete, it is time for players to concentrate on their individual development. Skill development happens in the high school offseason. I often hear from parents and players asking how they can get more college exposure. In most cases, the player has had exposure in the past, but his game was not strong enough to garner college attention. Exposure without a great skill set is worthless.
