Four great games are set for Saturday at Indianapolis Arsenal Tech. Here is a preview of the match-ups.

East Chicago Central (8-6) vs. Fort Wayne Luers (7-6), 3:30pm

Talented underclassmen will dominate this game. James Blackmon Jr. (Indiana-2014) is scoring in bunches this season. His freshman brother, Vijay, is the second option. Both have bright futures. ECC is led by Hyron Edwards (2015). Edwards is counted on to do everything for the Cardinals. He will need to have a large scoring output for ECC to win. Another player to watch for East Chicago is freshman Damien Jefferson. He has a chance to be special.

Lake Central (9-5) vs. Cathedral (12-5), 5:15pm

Lots of Division 1 talent in this game. Lake Central has Tyler Wideman (2014), who has offers from Purdue and Xavier. Tye Wilburn (2014) is a tough point guard that can do a little bit of everything. He has an offer from IPFW. The key to the game for Lake Central could be Mike Miklusak (2013). Miklusak has improved dramatically over the last two seasons.

Cathedral is led by Collin Hartman (Indiana), Mo Evans (IPFW) and Jalen Coleman (2015). Those three usually account for most of Cathedral’s scoring. Collin Barthel might be the most important player in this game though. He will likely have the assignment of guarding Wideman in the post. Barthel did a great job of containing Trey Lyles in the city championship game. We’ll see if he can have a repeat performance.

Northrop (15-3) vs. Pike (14-2), 6:45pm

Talk about guard play, wow! Northrop has Bryson Scott (Purdue) and Brenton Scott (Indiana State) while Pike features Jordan Pickett (Loyola), Zavier Turner (Ball State), and Taishaun Johnson, who actually leads Pike in scoring. It will be fun to see these players match-up against each other.

Pike dismissed senior Jaime Rutherford recently. Rutherford did a lot of the dirty work for Pike while also providing some size. Kendall Rollins (2014) has to fill that void now. He has some of the best shot blocking timing in the state. He change alter a game without scoring a basket.

Warren Central (8-6) vs. Indianapolis Tech 15-3), 8:15pm

Warren Central is led by Indiana signee Devin Davis. So far the season has been a disappointment for Warren Central. Their play has not been able to match their talent up to this point. Gary Bonds (2015) transferred by to Scecina after winter break. They still have Jordan Garnett (2014), Jaraan Lands (2014), and C.J. Hardaway (2015) who has really been coming on lately.

Tech has been very good this season, but has lost two of their last three games. They are coming off a tough loss to Hamilton Southeastern. Trey Lyles (2014) has been great this season. Lyles and Davis will battle against each other in this one. The play of C.J. Walker (2016) has surpassed most expectations. The freshman seems to never get rattled. Tech will need to get production from Jeremie Tyler (2014) in order to take some pressure off of Lyles. Tyler is extremely talented and skilled, but disappears during some games.
