There are not many better scorers in the state of Indiana than Anthony Johnson. He is an elite leaper with skills to go along with his athleticism. He does not take many bad shots especially for a player averaging 26 points per game.

Johnson was extremely under-recruited to start the season, but things have started to change. Iona is expected at Decatur Central for their game against Bloomington South Friday night. Iona plays Indiana State in the "Bracket Buster" on Saturday. Loyola (IL) and Tennessee-Martin have shown interest on the D1 front.

Decatur Central coach Joe Preda said that many junior college programs have been in contact. Preda says that Johnson still has a chance to qualify for the D1 level. Johnson needs to get straight Bs this semester in order to qualify for the Division 1 level. If he does not qualify for D1, Preda believes he will go the junior college route or possibly prep school route, depending on his grade situation, instead of going to the D2 or NAIA levels.

Johnson's decision will have to be extremely late since he is working on grades this semester. He has taken the SAT and ACT. He is waiting for his ACT results which they are hoping are better than his SAT scores.
