Anthony Johnson (2013) Qualifies

Decatur Central's Anthony Johnson has academically qualified to play college basketball next year. The explosive yet efficient guard had a great season for Decatur Central. He averaged 25 point per game on 53% from the field, 39% from 3 and 85% from the line. Mid-major programs with room should look to add Johnson.

Johnson was offered by the University of Missouri-Kansas City in April. It is his only D1 offer at this time. Western Illinois and Long Island were showing strong interest in Johnson before he qualified. He was also pursued by Indiana State. They would have likely offered Johnson, but Alex Etherington committed to the Sycamores and they no longer had room.

He has also maintained that junior college was a possibility even if he qualified. His recruitment was held back because many programs did not think he would qualify. If he heads to junior college now, he can leave after one season since he qualified academically. Johnson would be a fantastic late pick-up for most D1 programs.
