Recruiting Update: April 27th

Quick update of recent commitments and college lists...

 

2011

Michael “Spike” Albrecht 6’0 PG Crown Point- Albrecht averaged 21ppg and 5 assists per game for Crown Point this season. He fielded some D1 interest but no offers so he is heading to Northfield Mt. Hermon prep school in the fall.

Jerrick Ware 5’11 PG East Chicago Central- Ware might be the best on ball defender in the class of 2011 in Indiana. Streaky outside shooter that can light people up when he is feeling it. Ware is going to attend Trinity Valley Community College in the fall.

George Zhang 6’4 SF West Lafayette- Zhang is a big time shooter that averaged nearly 16 points per game as a senior. Zhang will attend Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in the fall.

Nyree Robinson 6’2 SG Carmel-Robinson played for Carmel this year after playing three years at Fort Wayne Elmhurst. It was not a smooth transition for Robinson. He had D1 interest early in his high school career. Robinson is now heading to Danville Community College. Evan Blackmon committed to Danville last week as well.

Alec Peterson 6’10 C Carmel- Peterson had some D1 interest from schools like Army, Gardner-Webb, and Colorado State. Peterson has decided to attend Huntington College next year.

Jordan Hahn 5’11 PG New Castle –Hahn has signed with Huntington College. He scored over 700 career points for New Castle.

 

2012

Mike Ramey 6’4 SG Southport- The Southport shooter reported offers from Wyoming, St. Joe’s, Fordam, Ball State, Miami (OH), Gardner-Webb, Morehead State, IPFW, Southern Illinois, and Eastern Kentucky. Ramey also said he has new interest from Nebraska, New Mexico, Minnesota, and Clemson.

 

2014

Mike Jones 6’4 SG Northwest- The athletic freshman said he has heard from Tennessee, Xavier, Purdue, Valpo, Indiana, and Drexel.

Jeremie Tyler 6’1 SG Indianapolis Tech- Tyler said that Xavier, Evansville, and Indiana State have been in contact with his high school coaches.

Tyler Wideman 6’8 PF Lake Central- Wideman reported that he has heard from most of the Big Ten already but has no offers at this point. Wideman was battling an injury last weekend in Merrillville.

Justin King 6’5 SF Bowman Academy- King was really good this past weekend for Mean Streets. He looked much more explosive than when I saw him during the high school year. King said that Marquette had contacted his high school but that was it so far in terms of recruiting.

Jaraan Lands 6’5 SF Brownsbug- Lands reports an offer from Indiana University plus interest from Purdue, Xavier, Butler, Illinois, and Pittsburgh. He said he has taken unofficial visits to Indiana, Purdue, and Louisville.
