La Lumiere point guard Tyger Campbell has committed to UCLA. He is a member of the 2018 class after reclassifying in the spring from 2019.

Campbell originally committed to DePaul in the spring of 2017. Former La Lumiere head coach Shane Heirman was hired as an assistant coach with DePaul around the same time. Campbell ended up opening his recruitment back up in the fall.

DePaul, Maryland, Purdue and UCLA were his final four schools. He took an official visit to UCLA last weekend. Announcing soon after an official visit is usually a strong sign that the prospect is going to commit to that school. Most analysts still believed Campbell was going to commit to DePaul. The situation became more unclear when Campbell pushed back his commitment date from Thursday to Tuesday.

Campbell is a pass-first lead guard that has improved as a shooter in the last couple of years. He has always had a high understanding of the game while possessing great poise as well. Those two things will help him be successful at the high-major level despite not having great size or tremendous athleticism for that tier of play.
