Jacob Redding's 18 points led the visiting Carroll Chargers over South Bend Adams 64-43 on Wednesday night.
The pace was hectic from the start. It looked like it was the style that Adams wanted to play. Adams has many quick guards that they can rotate throughout the game like Michael Green, Jesse Fitzgerald, Brandon Wadley and Davea Diggins.
Junior guard Jacob Redding made an impact from start to finish for Carroll. His nine first quarter points gave Carroll the early lead. He scored at the basket as well as from the outside.
Adams made it a game in the second quarter. They took a brief lead in the period before Carroll answered back. Brandon Wadley and Davea Diggins provided much of the offense when Adams took the lead.
Adams was not shy about shooting outside shots. They were just 5 of 20 in the first half from the three point line and finished the game 6 of 30. Many were good looks that did not go down but others were a little rushed and out of range.
Carroll made it a point to get Ball State bound forward Kyle Mallers on track in the third quarter. They were looking for him and running screens for him. His outside shot looked good but it did not fall often for him on Wednesday night.
Kelham Brown and Jacob Redding sealed the game late by slashing to the basket and converting. The game was never in danger for Carroll in the fourth quarter. The Chargers held Adams to just 12 points in the second half.
Carroll won going away 64-43. They will return to action December 5 against Concord while South Bend Adams plays on the same day against Northrop.
