Lebanon and Connersville faced off in the first round of the Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament. It was a good game from start to finish.
There was a quick pace to the first half. Junior wing Grant Smith had the ball in his hands most of the time for Connersville. He did a good job of putting pressure on the defense with his slashing ability. He found open teammates when his drive was cut off.
Trevor Lakes had a big second quarter for Lebanon. He scored seven points late in the quarter. His steal and dunk with 15 seconds left before halftime tied the game. Lakes had a great game for Lebanon. He scored inside, in the mid-range and from the three point line. He also was the main rebounder for Lebanon.
Beau Isaacs was a consistent source of points in the paint for Connersville. He is an undersized post at 6-foot-3, but he did a good job of converting his opportunities around the basket.
Sophomore guard Garrett Silcott did an excellent job of protecting the ball while also finding open teammates as Lebanon was looking to trap late in the game.
Int the end, Isaacs and Connersville made enough plays to win the game 54-50.
