In a first round matchup of the Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament, Indianapolis Tindley faced Franklin Central.
Marcus Burk and Grant Pedigo got Franklin Central off to a strong start. Burk swished a couple early three pointers and Pedigo was making shots in the mid-range. Pedigo scored 12 points in the first half. Burk added 11 to have Franklin Central up 38-23 at the half.
Hunter White was the bright spot for Tindley. He scored 11 points in the first half on five shots. White had a couple of creative finishes at the basket.
It was more of the same in the third quarter. Burk and fellow senior Antyone Jackson carried the load for Franklin Central. Jackson had five points in the period.
Eric Hunter struggled to find a shooting rhythm. He was able to get on track a little bit in the third quarter. Hunter scored seven points in the third then got it going in the fourth period, but the game was out of reach for Tindley.
Franklin Central coasted to 71-53 victory.
Marcus Burk finished with 22 points while Grant Pedigo had 16 points and 5 rebounds. Eric Hunter led Tindley with 24 points while Hunter White had 15.
