In the second game of the day at the Noblesville Holiday Tournament, Crown Point took on Lawrence North. The game featured plenty of star power with Indiana University signee Grant Gelon and Sasah Stefanovic for Crown Point while LN has Kevin Easley, Djimon Henson, Ra Kpedi, Antwaan Cushingberry and Dexter Shouse.
Morehead State signee Djimon Henson started the scoring off for Lawrence North with four points. Kevin Easley also scored four early points for Lawrence North. It was the Wildcat defense that stifled Crown Point. The Bulldogs only scored eight points in the first period.
Grant Gelon kick started the Crown Point offense in the second quarter. He scored six points early in the period. Then he knocked down a three pointer from 26 feet to bring Crown Point within 27-24 late in the half.
It was 29-28 with Lawrence North in the lead at the half.
Stefanovic scored the first eight points in the second half for Crown Point to give them the 36-29 lead. Easley did a good job of keeping Lawrence North in the game. He scored six points in the quarter and also was a force on the glass.
It was a great game in the fourth quarter with each team making plays. Stefanovic made most of the offensive plays for Crown Point. The junior guard scored 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Senior guard Ethan Jarrett made a three point play with about 30 seconds left in the game to give Lawrence North the three point advantage. Crown Point answered right back with a three pointer from Stefanovic. It appeared he was hit on the play as well, but no foul was called.
Djimon Henson then milked the clock for the final shot. It looked like he was not going to be able to get a shot off, but he found space and hit an off balanced three as time expired to give Lawrence North the 64-61 victory.
Henson finished the game with 20 points to lead Lawrence North. Kevin Easley added 16 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Wesley Bender was also in double digits for Lawrence North with 10 points. Stefanovic had a game-high with 31 points. Grant Gelon finished with 15 points.
