Indianapolis Tech entered Tuesday night's game against Lawrence North with a record of 7-1. Its only slip up was a road loss to Anderson by one point. Lawrence North lost its first two games of the season, but rattled off six wins since.
Morehead State signee Djimon Henson and 2017 post Ra Kpedi got Lawrence North rolling early in the game. They were aggressive from the start and it pushed LN to an early lead. It was a strong game from start to finish for Kpedi.
It was a struggle for Tech to score all game. They hit four three pointers in the first quarter to offset the scoring drought in the middle of the quarter. Florida State signee C.J. Walker never got on track offensively for Tech. He ended up with 14 points but needed 20 shots in order to produce that.
The story of the game was Ra Kpedi. It was the most complete game that he has played against a quality opponent. He was making plays that he was not making in the summer. Kpedi's coordination and feel has progressed well. He scored 13 points in the second half on his way to 20 points.
Lawrence North did not coast to an easy victory though. Despite Walker's struggles, Tech stayed in the game until the end. Chris King was quiet in the first half but was tough in the second half. He scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half including 13 in the fourth quarter. King mixed in slashing scores with three point shots in the second half.
Sophomore guard Antwaan Cushingberry helped seal the game for Lawrence North. He dished out three of his six assists in the fourth quarter. He also scored 13 points in the game.
Lawrence North won its seventh game in a row with the 70-56 victory.
