Lapel has been the team to beat in 2A all season. The Bulldogs dropped a surprising game to Speedway on Friday. Lapel was looking to get back on track against Park Tudor on Tuesday evening. Those hopes were quickly tapered by Park Tudor.

Kamron Herrington hit the first shot of the game to give Lapel the 2-0 lead. Park Tudor took over after that. The Panthers scored 14 of the next 16 points with 2017 forward Jaren Jackson Jr. being the catalyst. Jackson scored seven points in the first quarter including an emphatic dunk through a foul. Jackson was the star of the game on both ends.

"I take what the defense gives me, if the defense is doubling down on me in the post then I'll kick it out to shooters," said Jaren Jackson Jr. "If I get it in the post and they are smaller than me, I'll take advantage in the post."

Jackson showed the complete game from post moves with a soft touch to leading the fast break after getting steals. Jackson was strong and aggressive throughout the game. It led to a stat line that included 26 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, four assists and two blocks. He did it all for Park Tudor.

2017 forward JonRoss Richardson was the saving grace for Lapel in the second and third quarters. After the first period, Richardson scored 20 of Lapel's 28 points. Richardson lived at the free throw line most of the game. He was 13-14 from the charity stripe.

The one option scoring was a combination of Richardson being efficient and his teammates being unable to convert especially from the outside. Lapel shot 1-19 from the three-point line by my statistics. In comparison, Park Tudor went 8-14 from long distance.

Lapel was in striking distance despite the horrendous shooting and strong play of Jaren Jackson. Park Tudor led by 10 points at the half and 12 points heading into the fourth quarter. It was the fourth quarter where the wheels fell off for Lapel.

Kobe Webster scored nine points in the second period for Park Tudor. In the same quarter, he rolled his ankle on a drive into the paint. Webster said that it was a sprain after the game and he expects to play in the sectional opener.

Park Tudor won going away 67-41. Isiah Moore finished with 12 points for Park Tudor. Webster added nine while Isaiah Rice had eight. JonRoss Richardson led Lapel with 25 points and six rebounds. Austin Lyons contributed seven points in the loss.
