Merrillville opened the season with a surprising victory over Southport and has remained unbeaten ever since. East Chicago Central began the season with a surprising loss to Gary Roosevelt. The Cardinals rattled off five wins in a row entering Wednesday's game.

Two Indianapolis schools traveled to Marion in order to face off. Southport was missing Butler signee Joey Brunk once again as he recovers from a sprained ankle. He should return to the court soon. Indianapolis Tech's only loss of the season came at the hands of Anderson.
