The Bulldogs came out slow once again tonight. Bosse jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Romeo tallied just five points in the opening period that finished tied 14-14.
The intensity picked up in the 2nd quarter. A big three-pointer from junior, Blake Murphy, gave the Bulldogs the lead 22-19. Langford struggled early with his outside jumper but found his way to the line late in the second quarter. Mekhi Lairy hit three triples in the first half and finished with 13. Langford finished with 12, seven coming from the free throw line. The teams were all knotted at 31 at the intermission.
Bosse came out of the break with a three-pointer from Mekhi Lairy. This was followed by a Romeo Langford four-point play. Langford struggled from outside in the first half but would hit four three-pointers in the third quarter. Lairy carried Bosse throughout the game, hitting shot after shot. Langford made his way to 15 points in the quarter. At the end of the third, the score was 52-47, New Albany.
Bosse hung around for most of the fourth quarter, however, turnovers kept Bosse from making a real threat, they finished with 22 in the game. They trailed just 55-50 with 7:06 left in the 4th quarter. New Albany expanded its lead to 65-59 with 2:45 left in regulation. Bosse would only score four more points as New Albany went on to win 72-63. Romeo Langford led all scorers with 34 points and 5 rebounds. Mekhi Lairy poured in 21 points for Bosse. Isaac Hibbard finished with 20 points for the Bulldogs.
