Thursday night, Indianapolis HomeSchool took on Broad Ripple without three of its top scorers.

Freshman Tayson Parker is leading HomeSchool with 17 points per game. He played against Broad Ripple without his wingmen Carter Hughes, Alex Stearman and Mitchell Wirts. Broad Ripple did a great job of taking control of the game from the start.

It was Matthew Henderson and Patrick Wilburn leading the way early for Broad Ripple. They were active on both ends of the floor for the Rockets to begin the game. Behind Henderson and Wilburn, Broad Ripple jumped out to a 14-4 lead.

Turnovers were HomeSchool’s biggest problem early in the game. The Wildcats were shaky with their passes and handling the ball against pressure. HomeSchool cut down on its errors as the game developed.

After sitting out the first quarter, senior Sam Colbert tallied 15 points in the second period. The guard was extremely aggressive as he wanted to make up for lost time. He finished with 19 points and four assists.

It was never a single-digit game after the first quarter. HomeSchool did make a small run to kick off the second half. Tayson Parker scored 11 points in the third quarter. He found his shooting rhythm in the quarter. Jake Rosko knocked down a couple of long-range shots as well for HomeSchool.

The Broad Ripple lead was cut to 16 points midway through the third. The Rockets responded with a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach. Matthew Henderson had a big hand in the Broad Ripple run. He finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Broad Ripple coasted to an 80-55 victory. Colbert led the Rockets with 19. Patrick Wilburn had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Caleb Brown added 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Freshman Tayson Parker had 29 points to lead all scorers. Jake Rosko chipped in 14.

Broad Ripple is 16-3 on the season. They have Scecina, Attucks and Washington left on the schedule.
