Greenwood had a ceremony for longtime coach Bruce Hensley before the game. He is retiring after this season. It was also senior night for the Woodmen. Indian Creek spoiled the party behind Tim Abel’s shooting.
The offenses of Indian Creek and Greenwood struggled for most of the game. Both were really sputtering early in the game. Greenwood was able to stay in the game thanks to offensive rebounding. The Woodmen grabbed seven offensive rebounds in the opening quarter.
Tim Abel and Jared DeHart were more aggressive in the second quarter for Indian Creek. The duo creates much of the Indian Creek offense and they weren’t productive in the first period. That changed in the second stanza and they remained a major factor for the rest of the game.
Greenwood led 20-17 at the half. Indian Creek took over the game from there. The Braves knocked down six three-pointers in the third quarter. Abel and DeHart combined for 20 points in the third period. With those two burying shots, Indian Creek outscored Greenwood 26-12 in the quarter.
