The Indiana All-Stars had a 16-game winning streak against Kentucky entering Saturday night’s match-up. It wasn’t easy, but the 2017 team stretched the streak to 17 games after a 94-89 victory.
Mr. Basketball Kris Wilkes was suspended for Thursday’s game against the North Juniors. He made up for lost time against Kentucky. The UCLA-bound forward finished with 29 points on 12-18 shooting in the victory. He added six rebounds, three steals and two blocks as well.
In the first half, Mack Smith scored nine straight points for the Indiana All-Stars. He was coming off a 20-point performance against the juniors on Thursday. His stellar play continued as he added seven rebounds to the winning effort.
Western Kentucky signee Taveion Hollingsworth was the bright spot for Kentucky. His play early in the second half kept Kentucky in the game. Hollingsworth finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and steals. The negative side was that he turned the ball over eight times.
Jalen Adaway was a force on the defensive end for the Indiana All-Stars. He finished the game with 12 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals. He was a major rim protector for the Indiana All-Stars.
The Indiana All-Stars face off with Kentucky to end the 2017 series Sunday in Kentucky.
