Aaron Henry poured in 45 points with 12 rebounds in his only game of the week, and the Ben Davis senior paces the honorees in this week’s IBCA/Subway Player of the Week program.

The 6-6 Henry erupted in the second half to keep the Ben Davis boys in the game against Hamilton Heights Christian Academy of Tennessee, but the Giants (5-2) dropped a 77-74 decision despite his 45 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in their only game of the week. The Michigan State recruit made 16-of-23 field goals, 2-of-5 3-pointers and 11-of-15 free throws.

Newman shined in a losing effort for the Valparaiso boys (6-1) in their only game of the week. The 6-4 guard poured in 33 points with 14 rebounds, one assist and two steals as the Vikings fell 68-63 to Fort Wayne North. Newman was 11-of-24 from the floor, 4-of-7 from 3-point range and 7-of-10 from the line for his big game.

The 6-4 Coyle averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to propel the Bloomington South boys (9-1) to a 4-0 week. He opened with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 62-33 victory over Bloomfield. This is the 10th season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program and the sixth season it is presented by Subway Restaurants of Indiana, a banner sponsor of the IBCA.
