Park Tudor remained undefeated by scorching the nets against Heritage Christian Tuesday night.

Heritage Christian junior forward Harrison Eckel scored the first five points of the game. It was a sign of things to come as Eckel had an excellent game – 15 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Williams joined the fun early as well to push Heritage Christian’s lead to 10-2 before Kadaphi Honaker righted the ship for Park Tudor. He scored twice in a row from the paint to get the Panthers back on their feet.

The Eagles held a small lead for most of the first half until Tristan Bufkin made his impact on the game. He scored eight points late in the half to ignite Park Tudor’s 10-0 run. Bufkin was also a force on the glass. Behind the run, Park Tudor led 32-27 at the break.

In a low-scoring third quarter, Park Tudor was able to extend its lead. Honaker had a couple power move finishes. The junior forward played with great confidence as he controlled the paint.

Up 12 late in the third, it looked like Park Tudor was going to waltz to a victory. Will Christie scored off a feed from Harrison Eckel to kickstart a Heritage Christian 9-1 run. With the game in the balance, Bufkin stepped up again for Park Tudor. He cut for a layup then buried a three-pointer from the wing to give Park Tudor breathing room.

Down six points with 45 seconds left, Heritage Christian got a half dozen shots but couldn’t connect on any of them. The Eagles kept coming up with the ball but no shots went down and the clock drained.

Park Tudor won 53-47. Tristan Bufkin finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Kadaphi Honaker scored 13, while Elijah Shelton had eight points. JC Glenn tallied seven.

Harrison Eckel led Heritage Christian with 15 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Williams added 14. Jack Arterburn recorded 11 points.

Park Tudor moved to 4-0 with the victory. Heritage Christian dropped to 5-2.
