The sophomore frontcourt duo of Kooper Jacobi and Trey Kaufman combined for 37 points and 13 rebounds as Silver Creek dominated the paint in claiming the 3A South semistate crown. Jacobi and Kaufman combined to shoot 60% from the floor against a much smaller Attucks frontline.

The Dragons marched their way to a ten point halftime advantage, but that was quickly erased as Attucks senior guard Harold Bennett scored 14 points in the third quarter to bring Attucks all the way back. The Tiger would claim a three-point lead near the end of the period, but a 7-2 spurt to close the third for Silver Creek allowed them to regain the lead.

SinCere McMahon then got hot from the perimeter, hitting four straight three-point attempts. Attucks would take their final lead of the game at 63-61 with just under three minutes remaining. Jack Hawkins would tie the game on a pair of free throws, then regain the lead on the next possession. Silver Creek would continue to hold Attucks off by controlling the class, like Jacobi, Kaufman, and Jack Hawkins all managed to make life difficult for the frontcourt of Attucks. In the end, it was just enough for the Dragons, who survived 51 points from Bennett and McMahon, with the duo scoring 35 of the 42 second-half points for Attucks.

Silver Creek makes their first trip to the state finals as they face Culver Academy at 6:00pm on Saturday.

The Miners of Linton-Stockton rode hot early shooting in building a double-figure halftime advantage and were never seriously challenged in the second half in advancing to their first state title game since 2013.

Junior forward Kip Fougerousse led Linton with 20 points as the Miners began by hitting nearly every shot they took on their way to 25 first quarter points. Linton went 5-6 from behind the three-point line in the opening eight minutes. Shenandoah managed to keep within striking distance by knocking down 3-4 from three-point range. Linton would stretch their lead into double figures at halftime as the smaller Raider side found it difficult to finish at the rim against the much larger Miner frontline.

Every time Shenandoah would look poised to make a run, Linton would hold them at bay, leading by 15 heading into the fourth and as many as 20 during the fourth quarter. Rebounding was a key factor, as Linton controlled the glass, getting many easy putback opportunities and keep Shenandoah from generating any second chance offense for themselves.

Senior forward Sam Robbins notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards to go along with 4 assists and a pair of rejections. Lincoln Hale also scored 16 and Tucker Hayes joined them in double figures with 13. Jakeb Kinsey led Shenandoah with 16 points, nine of those coming in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach. Kade McCullough scored 11 for the Raiders while Andrew Bennett and Peyton Starks each scored 10.

Linton-Stockton will play Andrean in the 2A state championship game on Saturday at 12:45pm.
