In the only match-up of the 2019 Indiana All-Stars and Junior All-Stars, the seniors won 127-116 in New Castle Wednesday evening. (Trayce Jackson-Davis from Nike)
In the new format, this game was the only warm-up for the senior group. The junior team played the Kentucky Junior All-Stars Sunday and Monday. The juniors split those games with Kentucky.
Like most all-star games, there wasn't much defense. That led to 14 of the 23 players in the game scoring in double figures. Junior Nijel Pack led all scores with 17 points. He also had eight rebounds and four assits. 2019 Mr. Basketball Trayce Jackson-Davis had 16 points on 7-10 shooting from the field.
Although the juniors stayed in the game, the Indiana All-Stars stretched its lead late in the first half. Then pushed it to 20 points early in the second half. The seniors shot well - 14-33 from three-point range and 17-21 from the free throw line. Jalen Windham went 4-7 and Brandon Newman hit 3-5 from deep. The seniors also had 35 assists compared to 13 turnovers. If the seniors play like that against Kentucky this weekend, they will sweep the Bluegrass state.
