Following Jaden Ivey's transfer to La Lumiere, Lafayette Jeff has replaced Mishawaka Marian in the 2019 Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic.
Ivey is a 2020 prospect committed to Purdue. He is Indiana Basketball Source's top prospect in the state's 2020 class. For those reasons, the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame wanted Marian in the event. With him out of the picture, Marian is being replaced by Lafayette Jeff.
The event takes place December 28 at New Castle. The match-ups will be Silver Creek against Heritage Hills and Lawrence Central against Lafayette Jeff. The winners will meet for the title later in the day. The losing teams will play a consolation game prior to the championship.
Lafayette Jeff will be a strong team with shooting up and down the roster. 2021 guard Brooks Barnhizer has had a good summer. His play has attracted offers from Detroit and Western Kentucky. Avery Beaver, Braxton Barnhizer, and Matt Jones are good players with plenty of varsity experience. They will be one of the top 4A teams.
