Jeffersonville came to Indianapolis on Thursday night to play Crispus Attucks fresh off winning the Kokomo Holiday Tournament. Attucks beat Merrillville and North Central after being blown out by Lawrence Central a couple of weeks ago.

Senior Malik Tansmore hit a three-pointer for Attucks to get the scoring started for the Tigers. It was the start of a huge game from Tansmore. Overall, Attucks was locked in from deep to begin the game. Tansmore, Sincere McMahon, and Qu'Shawn Ware all knocked down triples.

As Attucks was making outside shots, Jeffersonville was turning the ball over. The Red Devils committed seven turnovers in the opening quarter. That led to Attucks leading 24-11 after the first eight minutes.

Sophomore Will Lovings-Watts scored four early points in the second period thanks to feeds from Tre Coleman. Lovings-Watts was solid across the board from start to finish.

After Jeffersonville cut the Attucks lead down to seven, Tansmore and McMahon were there to extend the lead back to 14 points. That was a theme of the game. Jeffersonville would get close then Attucks hit timely shots to regain breathing room.

The beginning of the second half was the same scenario. Caleb Mason hit a three then Tre Coleman scored inside to make it a six-point game. This time Jaylen Carson knocked a mid-range shot. Carson was big for Attucks. The 2021 forward was physical with Coleman and Lovings-Watts inside then displayed his shooting ability from the 15-18 range.

Midway through the fourth, McMahon hit a free throw to make it a 13-point lead for Attucks. Mason hit a three before Kobe Stoudemire and Coleman scored in the lane. The 7-0 run cut the Attucks lead to 66-60 with just under three minutes to play.

That was as close as Jeffersonville could get. Tansmore and McMahon put the game on ice for Attucks. Crispus Attucks won 72-65 to move to 7-2 on the season. The Red Devils dropped to 6-4.

Malik Tansmore finished with 23 points on 10-12 shooting from the field. He also had eight rebounds. Sincere McMahon had 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds. He was 8-11 from the field.
