The Pike Red Devils entered Tuesday's game against Noblesville a few plays away from an undefeated record. Instead, Pike was 7-2 with an improving Noblesville team coming to Red Devil territory.

On the seventh possession of the game, JJ Louden connected on a three-pointer for Pike. The poor shooting by both teams to start the game set the tone for the entire first half. In total, there were 26 points scored in the first half compared to 15 turnovers. Luckily for Bill Zych and John Peckinpaugh, each side struggled equally.

Davion Bailey opened the second half scoring with a three-pointer for Pike. Bailey has had a good senior season. Through nine games, Bailey averaged 17.6 points per game but only scored two points in the first half. He picked it up after halftime.

Despite the triple from Bailey, the first five minutes of the third quarter mirrored the opening half. The scoring increased towards the end of the period and resembled a normal game from there. Noah Harris scored five straight points for Noblesville to give the Millers a 21-18 lead late in the third. Edward Jones answered for Pike with four straight points of his own.

With game tied at 25, Harris scored on a feed from E.J. Smith. On the next Noblesville possession, Smith found Brendon Fisher for a three-pointer. Pike wasn't down for long as junior forward Kyran Montgomery scored on back to back possession for the Red Devils. Montgomery started a 10-0 Pike run as Bobby Johnson hit two three-pointers. It looked like the eight-point lead would be enough with two minutes to play.

Noblesville was desperate for points with a minute to go when Pike fouled Jordan Gadis on a three-point attempt. After the play, Montgomery slammed the ball down resulting in a technical foul It gave Noblesville a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately for the Millers, Gadis only hit one of three free throws then came up empty on the possession following the technical.

Gadis knocked down a three-pointer from the right wing to make it a four-point game. With only 17 seconds left, Bailey iced the game from the free throw line by hitting three of four.

Pike won 41-36.

Bailey didn't shoot well, but filled the statsheet. He finished with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Edward Jones tallied eight points and seven rebounds. Kyran Montgomery came off the bench for six points and four rebounds. Bobby Johnson finished with the two threes. JJ Louden added five.

Gadis led Noblesville with eight points. Brendon Fisher had six points and five assists. Noah Harris recorded seven points and three rebounds. Alex Hunt added six points and seven rebounds. Evan Wilson tallied five points. E.J. Smith had four points and three assists.
