To no surprise, Indiana was shut out of the 2020 McDonald's All-American game on the boys side. Sydney Parrish did make it from Hamilton Southeastern on the girls side.
2020 is the first year since 2009 that Indiana did not land a player in the prestigious game. Last year, Trayce Jackson-Davis made the game. To make the team, most players are in the consensus national top 30. The state's 2020 class does not feature anyone in that tier. Jaden Ivey is the highest rated prospect, according to the 247sports.com composite ranking. Ivey is number 77.
Along with no Indiana natives, colleges in the state also didn't land a player on the list. The University of North Carolina landed four players on the team. Roy Williams will not have to deal with a team lacking talent for long. Duke has three players on the team. Kentucky has two players on the team.
Duke signee Jalen Johnson would have been a lock for the team, but he left the IMG Academy team and has not been playing this season.
Misses - There are only 24 spots, so there are always tough cuts and decisions. Overall, I like Micah Peavy more than many national analysts. With his athleticism and skill, the Texas Tech signee could be a head-scratching omission down the road. Tennessee signee Keon Johnson is a consensus top 25 player and didn't make it. He could be in the mix with Peavy as a glaring mistake in the future.
