In an important Northeast Corner Conference game, Westview went to Prairie Heights and left with a win. Charlie Yoder scored 15 in the second half to lead the Warriors to the victory.

Early in the game, it was a shootout. Westview did not score a two-point shot in the first quarter but hit six threes. Blake Egli connected on four of those Westview triples. On the other end, PH senior Elijah Malone was aggressive and established himself in the paint. He had nine points in the opening period.

After a 19-19 first quarter, the pace slowed but the shot-making did not. Brady Yoder opened the stanza with a triple for Westview before Gavin Culler answered on the other end. A possession later, Drew Litwiller hit another three for Westview. The Warriors made their first two-pointer with 2:53 left in the first half. Malone continued to be a problem for Westview inside.

Af the half, the teams were tied at 29. Westview star Charlie Yoder only had five points. That quickly changed in the second half. After Malone scored inside, Yoder drilled a three from the left side and was fouled. Late in the quarter, Yoder made another shot to put Westview up 39-34. Mike Perkins answered with five points of his own to tie it up. To end the quarter, Perkins found Chase Bachelor for a three. That pushed Prairie Heights ahead 42-41 going to the fourth.

To kick off the final period, Perkins found Bachelor for another three. That was the largest lead of the game for Prairie Heights. Litwiller, Brady Yoder, and Luke Miller hit shots to give Westview the lead back. With under five minutes to play, Charlie Yoder ripped a three-pointer. That started a run of threes by both teams. Bachelor answered with a three for PH before Brady Yoder connected on a three for Westview.

Down four with fewer than two minutes left, Prairie Heights was forced to foul. With the game in the balance, Charlie Yoder went six of six and Litwiller went four of four. Malone made a couple free throws and Brandon Christlieb scored going to the basket, but Prairie Heights couldn’t get over the hump late.

Westview won going away, 64-57. Charlie Yoder had 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the win. Brady Yoder added 14. Blake Eglie finished with 12 on four threes. Drew Litwiller tallied 11 points seven rebounds.

Elijah Malone led PH with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Perkins also had 19 points. Freshman Chase Bachelor had 10.
