Perkins is in the running for the Indiana Mr. Basketball award. He had Lawrence North ranked number one for most of the season in Indiana Basketball Source's rankings. He posted 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game while being extremely efficient with his scoring. If Lawrence North would have been able to win the 4A state title, Perkins would have been the favorite to win Mr. Basketball. He still has a chance, but his odds would have been better with a deep tournament.
