Following a brief layoff for the holidays, Indiana high school hoops was back in action on Tuesday and provided several big stat lines and nail-biting finishes. Here were some of the best individual showings from around the state for Tuesday, December 30.
Trevor Taylor, Bloomington South 2021, stole the show with the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as Bloomington South edged Sullivan, 46-43. For the game, Taylor collected 16 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds.
Fletcher Loyer, Homestead 2022, poured in a school-record 50 points in Homestead’s 92-77 victory over Marion 77.
Jalen Blackmon, Marion 2021, scored 29 points to move into third place all-time for most career points in Marion history. The Giants fell 92-77 to Homestead.
JR Konieczny, St. Joe 2021, set a new career high with 45 points in St. Joe’s 98-61 win over Twin Lakes. The Notre Dame commit also had 25 points as St. Joe’s topped Logansport, 60-47.
Blake Wesley, South Bend Riley 2021, had 31 points despite Riley’s slim 69-68 loss to Merrillville.
Brooks Barnhizer, Lafayette Jeff 2021, paced the Broncos with 42 points to propel Lafayette Jeff to a 95-70 win over Bowman Academy.
Shamar Avance, Lawrence North 2021, paced the Wildcats with 22 points and 6 assists in an 84-69 win over Tindley.
Trey Flatt, Covenant Christian 2021, was nearly unstoppable Tuesday night pouring in 52 points and sinking 11 3-pointers in an 85-58 win over Lawrenceburg in the Morristown tournament. Flatt also had 22 points in Covenant Christian’s 69-52 victory over South Ripley.
Kyle Sanders, Western 2021, scored 22 of his game-high 39 points in the first quarter to help Western cruise past Metropolitan, 75-51.
Leland Walker, North Central 2022, paced North Central with 22 points in a narrow 62-55 win over Park Tudor.
Ronald Johnson, Park Tudor 2021, had 22 points, but Park Tudor fell 62-55 against North Central.
JC Glenn, Park Tudor 2021, added 21 points for Park Tudor in its 62-55 loss to North Central.
Isaiah Stafford, Crispus Attucks 2021, led the 7th-ranked Tigers with 20 points in a 89-59 over Shortridge.
Aaron Humphrey, Tindley 2022, did all he could against Lawrence North with 22 points and 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Wildcats won 84-69.
Aaron Pickel, North Putnam 2022, put together a huge game scoring 29 points and grabbing 5 rebounds to help North Putnam to a 78-67 win over Tipton.
Mason Brooks, North Putnam 2021, notched 27 points and 11 rebounds as North Putnam topped Tipton, 78-67.
Naylon Thompson, Bishop Luers 2021, had a game-high 28 points in Bishop Luers’ 72-53 win over Tippecanoe Valley.
Joey Hart, Linton-Stockton 2023, led the way with 26 points in Linton-Stockton’s 68-52 win over North Central in the Wabash Valley Classic.
Lincoln Hale, Linton-Stockton 2021, added 23 points as Hale and Joey Hart helped propel Linton-Stockton to a 68-52 win over North Central in the Wabash Valley Classic.
Jahni Summers, Evansville Harrison 2022, scored 22 points as Harrison downed Knox, 57-51, in the Forest Park Holiday Tournament.
Chandler Moore, Evansville North 2021, scored 24 points in North’s 52-33 win over Christian Academy.
Jayden Taylor, Perry Meridian 2021, had a big game finishing with 25 points and 8 rebounds in a 73-50 win over Lowell.
Christopher Mantis, Lowell 2021, contributed 21 points in Lowell’s 73-50 loss to Perry Meridian.
Brody Whitaker, Greencastle 2021, notched a game-high 20 points and 9 rebounds as Greencastle topped Edgewood, 55-46, in the Wabash Valley Classic.
Nick Sutherlin, Greencastle 2021, supplied 19 points and 6 rebounds in the Tiger Cubs’ 55-46 win over Edgewood.
Kyle Ross, Lake Central 2021, totaled 24 points and 13 rebounds in a 59-54 defeat to Northridge.
