Indiana high school hoops saw several conference tournaments wrap up Saturday night, while other pivotal matchups took place. Here were some of the best individual showings from around the state for Saturday, Jan. 16.
Jalen Hooks, Crispus Attucks 2023, sealed a win with his performance on both ends, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks in a 87-74 win over Marion.
Isaiah Stafford, Crispus Attucks 2021, chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to help the Tigers get past Marion.
Jalen Blackmon, Marion 2021, scored 37 points in the loss to Crispus Attucks.
Tayven Jackson, Center Grove 2022, scored 18 points as the Trojans clinched another country title with a 35-28 win over Greenwood..
Travis Grayson, Chesterton 2022, led all scorers with 22 points in Chesterton’s 44-36 triumph over Penn.
Kade Zeider, Caston 2022, sank 6 three-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 21 points as the Comets edged West Central, 52-39.
Gus Etchison, Hamilton Heights 2021, was dominant for the second-straight night recording 31 points and 6 assists in the Huskies’ 89-56 beatdown against Western Boone.
Isaac Wilson, Hamilton Heights 2021, set a new career high with 21 points and added 6 rebounds in a blowout win over Western Boone.
Trey Kaufman, Silver Creek 2021, became the school’s all-time leading scorer as he tallied 35 points and 8 rebounds to lead Silver Creek past Bloomington North, 94-74.
Caleb Furst, Blackhawk Christian 2021, notched a game-high 24 points to propel Blackhawk over Bishop Luers, 87-71.
Isaac Zay, Bishop Luers 2024, scored 21 points to set a new high in his young prep career. Bishop Luers fell to Blackhawk Christian, 87-71.
Connor Essegian, Central Noble 2022, led with 23 points in the Cougar’s 61-41 victory to clinch their second \ consecutive NECC Tournament championship
Camden Brown, University 2021, collected a game-high 26 points to propel University in 73-58 against Cardinal Ritter. Larry Pierce, 2022, contributed 23 points in the win.
Thomas Latham, New Haven 2021, earned a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds as New Haven toppled Carroll, 59-51.
Kaden Manna, Marquette 2022, recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds in a lopsided 72-46 win over Hobart.
Owen Dease, Evansville Reitz 2021, was successful on the boards and in the scoring column with 18 points and 15 rebounds as Reitz edged Webster Country (Ky) 59-46. Dease also scored 17 points later in the day in a win against Central Christian.
Aaron Humphrey, Tindley 2022, recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds to hand Lafayette Jeff its first win of the season, 76-63,
Shamar Avance, Lawrence North 2021, scored 16 of his 24 total points in the second half to lead Lawrence North over Warren Central, 59-56, in the Marion County Tournament final round.
CJ Gunn, Lawrence North 2022, added 18 points in the Wildcats’ tournament-clinching win against Warren Central.
Malik Stanley, Warren Central 2022, led his team with 22 points, though it wasn’t enough to take down Lawrence North in the Marion County Tournament.
Benji Welch, Westfield 2021, paced all scorers with 24 points, but the Shamrocks fell to Plainfield, 69-60.
Braden Smith, Westfield 2012, had 18 points and 8 assists in the loss to Plainfield.
James Arnold, South Adams 2021, flirted with a triple-double recording 18 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists in a 66-41 victory over Bluffton. Arnold’s performance helped the Stars claim their first county tournament title since 1993.
Blake Sisley, Heritage Hills 2021, set a new career-high with 29 points as the Patriots used a 57-49 win over Tecumseh to remain undefeated.
Jake Heidbreder, Floyd Central 2021, scored 22 points in a 52-47 win over North Harrison.

Logan Imes, Zionsville 2023, and Nick Richart, Zionsville 2023, each scored 20 points as the Eagles beat McCutcheon, 55-52.
Lane Sparks, Greensburg 2021, recorded 35 points as the Pirates beat South Dearborn, 78-72.
Vinny Buccilla, Hamilton Southeastern 2021, tallied 19 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds as the Royals took down Anderson, 80-61.
