The second quarter was played at a snail’s pace as Greenwood controlled or held the ball. With the lead, Plainfield sat back as Greenwood worked the clock. Interestingly, Greenwood shot three for three in the quarter but committed four turnovers. That allowed Plainfield to take a 19-11 lead to the locker room.
Out of the intermission, Greenwood scored seven straight points to make it a one-point game. Campbell connected on a three, then Rasheed Elemikan and Charlie Brooks combined to make four free throws. Plainfield bounced right back. Moyers finished a multi-effort play with an and-one, and Scott converted an and-one of his own a minute later.
The Plainfield spurt extended into the fourth quarter. Scott scored early in the period to make it a 12-0 run. Although Plainfield had shaky moments handling Greenwood’s pressure, the Quakers’ lead never dipped into single digits. Late in the game, senior Aidan Booher made two free throws to push Plainfield’s lead back to 14 points. That sealed the game.
