With the 2020-2021 high school season winding down, Indiana Basketball Source details nine 2021 prospects that elevated their play this season. All nine players are undecided on their college plans.
Brian Waddell – SG – Carmel
Recently hampered by an ankle injury, Waddell is Carmel’s leading scorer. His emergence is one of the reasons why the Greyhounds will be in the 4A mix again this postseason. He is a steady spot-up shooter with a high, quick release a la Klay Thompson. He does not dip the ball after catching it. At six-foot-five, he is a good finisher in transition and off of basket cuts. In seven Carmel games Indiana Basketball Source has tracked, Waddell has a True Shooting Percentage of 71.7. A driving force for that incredible efficiency is his free-throw shooting. He is 19-19 in those seven games. Waddell has drawn D1 interest this season.
