(Karson Jenkins pushed Snider to a victory with 29 points and 10 rebounds)
In the opening game of the East Noble sectional, Carroll ran away from Northrop at the start, amassing a 27 point halftime lead before cruising to a 70-41 win.
Jalen Jackson was his usual efficient self, scoring 24 points on 9/13 from the field and notching seven boards and four helpers as well. He got plenty of help from the arsenal of Carroll snipers behind the arc, as three different Chargers hit multiple three-pointers. Zach Castator came off the bench to hit four, while the starting backcourt of Cody Burkey and Ryan Preston hit three and two, respectively.
Sam Strycker stuffed the stat sheet, as he manned the high post and found Jalen Jackson along the baseline and Preston, Castator, and Burkey behind the arc. The 6'4 senior scored just six points on the night, but tied with Jackson and Castator for the team lead in rebounding with seven, and registered the same number of assists as well.
Things did not go according to plan for Northrop, as the Bruins garnered more fouls, 15, than points, 10, in the first half. They struggled to find any rhythm offensively, as Carroll loaded up to stop Khamani Smith, Northrop's standout senior wing. He scored 14 points on the evening but was just 5/15 from the field. He also led the Bruins with seven rebounds and tied for the team lead with three assists.
Jayden Schmenk scored nine of his 13 points in the second half on three triples, but Northrop could never find enough momentum to scratch away at the Carroll lead. Devin Camps and Dalmon Alexander both added six for the Bruins on a pair of three-pointers each.
Carroll moves to 16-6 on the season and will face North Side in the sectional semifinals Friday evening. Northrop finishes the year at 6-14.

In the second game of the evening, Snider outlasted a gritty Dekalb squad thanks to a huge double-double from junior guard Karson Jenkins. The 6'1 Jenkins poured in 29 points to go along with 10 boards as the Panthers escaped with a triple-overtime victory.
Snider led most of the way, but Dekalb stayed within striking distance thanks to junior guard Cole Richmond, who led all scorers with 34 points. It looked like it could be the Barons' night when sophomore Donald Wiley got a steal at midcourt and raced in for a dunk, then gathered a missed Dekalb free throw and put it in to give his side a three-point advantage in double overtime.
It was not to be for the Barons, however, as Jade Moore calmly sunk a three-pointer with just under five ticks left in the second extra session to knot the game at 61. In the third overtime period, it was all Snider, as the Panthers outscored Dekalb 5-0 in the final four minutes.
Jackson Barth scored all of his points after halftime, and
Connor Penrod added 12, ten of which came in the first half, but it was not enough to support Richmond, who was visibly tired and left several of his final shots short after keeping his team in the game single-handedly for much of the second half.
Grant Brown put up 10 points to go along with five boards and a pair of blocks, and Moore scored 13, the final three of which sent the game into triple overtime.
Snider moves to 12-10 on the season and will face sectional host East Noble in the second semifinal Friday night. Dekalb finishes their season with a record of 9-12.
