(Blackford's Luke Brown made the 2021 Indiana All-Star team)
Indiana All-Star director Mike Broughton announced the 2021 Indiana All-Star team. In most years, 15-17 players have legitimate cases to be on the Indiana All-Star team. This year, that list stretched to 30 players.
2021 Mr. Basketball Caleb Furst leads the list of all-stars. A couple of weeks ago, a finalist list of six players was announced - Furst, Trey Kaufman-Renn, Luke Brown, Brooks Barnhizer, Shamar Avance, and JR Konieczny. That meant nearly half the team was set at that point. Furst won the Mr. Basketball award by a comfortable margin with Kaufman-Renn and Brown placing second and third, respectively.
Shamar Avance and Brian Waddell helped their causes by making the 4A title game. Both players remain undecided on a college choice. A deep tournament runs always help players make a case for being on the team. This year, five of the selections played in a state title game.
