Since losing consecutive games to Perry Meridian and Carmel, Center Grove entered Friday night’s game against Lawrence North on a six-game winning streak. The Wildcats had its unbeaten season interrupted by Homestead last Saturday.
On Friday, Crown Point (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season against Chesterton. Michigan City (9-2) was looking to move to 2-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference play.

Seven years ago, Brit Harris (Marquette Catholic, 2022) stood nose-to-nose in front of a full-sized mirror. Hunched over and gazing into the reflection of his own eyes, the fifth-grader dribbled a basketball with his right hand, each movement growing more meticulous as the ball jolted from hand to ground and back again. Then he switched sides, this time dribbling with his left hand. For several minutes Harris continued this routine, his attention never jarring loose from his reflection, his body flowing with the pitter-patter of the ball.
Marquette Catholic traveled to Mishawaka riding an 11-game winning streak. The Cavemen brought their nine-game streak into the contest. The game featured a match-up of dynamic guards – Marquette’s Brit Harris and Mishawaka’s Trent Johnson.
