FORUM Tipoff Classic: Bloomington North-Franklin Central Preview

The 2:00 PM game at the 2021 FORUM Tipoff Classic showcases two rising teams. Bloomington North and Franklin Central have up-and-coming prospects in JQ Roberts (2023) and Lyna Brooks (2024).
Roberts saw his recruitment jump in the summer and fall behind his play with Indiana Elite 2023. The Bloomington North forward has scholarship offers from Indiana, Iowa, Butler, and others. The wiry, athletic junior thrives in transition and slashes to the basket. When he is hitting the glass, Roberts is producing as well as anyone.
Senior point guard Nick Klaiber is the leader for the Cougars. The four-year varsity player is leading Bloomington North with 19.5 points per game. Klaiber is also dishing out 4.5 assists and grabbing 5.5 rebounds per contest. An injury kept him out during the summer, but Klaiber has the attention of high-academic universities.
Marco Fitch does a bit of everything for Bloomington North. He is an excellent defender and passer that is knocking down outside shots to begin his senior year. Fitch also produces well in transition. He is a significant cog for North.
Nate Hoffman averages 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds to begin his senior season. With four players averaging double figures, Bloomington North’s balance is tough to slow down, and Hoffman is a primary reason for that.
Junior Bril Kante adds size and rebounding to the North lineup as well.
Franklin Central’s Lyna Brooks is a sophomore to watch. The 2024 guard averages 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds through two games. He possesses excellent positional size and athleticism supported by a solid skillset. He is a rising star in the sophomore class.
Like North, Franklin Central uses a balanced attack. Senior forward Airrion Body leads the Flashes with 12 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Senior guard Rynell Echols produces 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per contest. Sophomore guard Dhani Flannigan is getting 9.5 points each game, and Kole Brewer averages nine points. Senior Bryan Marshall is grabbing eight rebounds and producing 4.5 assists per game as well.
The parity of each team highlighted by a few rising prospects make this game extremely intriguing.
