(Karason Jenkins, pictured last year, had a game-high 26 points)
Fishers used their physicality to dominate the backboard and the foul line as they defeated Snider 77-65 Thursday afternoon to win the Hunting North Holiday Hoops tournament crown. Jeff Simmons was unstoppable, going for 26 points and 11 rebounds in the title game.
He was joined in double figures for the Tigers by fabulous frosh Jalen Haralson, who added 18 points to go along with six boards and three rejections, and senior guard Charlie Smith, who had a 14/5/3 line for the Tigers. Fishers was simply too mcuh for the much smaller Panthers of Snider to handle, as they won the rebound battle 30-13, and garnered 30 free throw attempts to Snider's three, resulting in a 21-1 scoring advantage at the stripe.
Karson Jenkins led the Panthers with 26 points, while Aidan Lambert scored 15.
But Fishers was simply too much for Snider to handle, as the Tigers grabbed nine offensive boards and routinely turned those into second chance points. Snider was 6-17 from behind the arc, but that was not enough to overcome the margin at the foul line.
