(Beech-Grove vs. Brownstown Central tip at Greencastle)
Saturday was a fun, full day of Indiana high school basketball as teams had to play two sessions to secure a regional title. Here is an overview of the day around the state.
Chesterton is undefeated but often finds itself trailing at the half. That was the case in the morning against South Bend Adams and Saturday night against Penn at the 4A Michigan City regional. But, once again, Travis Grayson led the Trojans to an impressive second half to capture Chesterton’s first regional title.
In an all out battle at North Judson, Central Noble used some late game heroics and a huge second half and overtime from Wisconsin signee Connor Essegian to outlast Blackhawk Christian 58-53 in overtime Saturday night. The 6'4 senior scored 23 of his game-high 30 after halftime for the Cougars, who advance to the 2A north semistate next Saturday.
