In his first game with Warren Central, Jalen Hooks hit Brandon Snodgrass in the corner for a three-pointer, and the Warriors did not look back. Warren Central jumped out to an 8-0 lead on Arsenal Tech on the opening night of Indiana high school basketball, and the Titans played hard but could not hang with the Warriors. Warren Central won 90-54.

The Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam is a marathon of an event, and the 2022 version came to an end on Sunday with many great matchups. Here is a rundown of the players that stood out on the final day.
Kentucky-bound guard Reed Sheppard and Indiana-bound point guard Gabe Cupps led Midwest Basketball Club to the main 17U title – Mike Conley Platinum Championship. Sheppard scored 15 points, including the game-winning layup, against Indiana Elite 2023 in the semifinal. After Indiana Elite tied the game with a three, Sheppard drove for an easy layup with under thirty seconds left in the game.
Sheppard then scored 20 points in the title game against Full Package.

The annual Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam tipped on Friday night in Fort Wayne. It is a loaded grassroots event again this year, and it started quickly with good games and player performances.
Grand Park Premier 2023 started off the night with a narrow victory over MTXE. The deciding play came when Jaylen Mullen hit Braden Walters for an alley-oop and-one. There were only a few seconds left when Walters converted the pass, and it propelled GPP to a three-point lead.
Mullen scored 15 points to lead GPP. After his three-point play, Walters finished with ten points. Joey Hart added 15 points in the win. It was a balanced effort from GPP as Logan Webb and Caleb Washington also reached double figures.
(Penn's Markus Burton had a big day at the Run N Slam)
Saturday at the 2022 Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam provided intriguing match-ups, comebacks, and eye-catching performances. Here is what Indiana Basketball saw throughout the day.
One of the games that I circled pre-tournament was Indy Heat-Red against Mac Irvin Fire. It was a chance for Penn guard Markus Burton to go against nationally-ranked Chicago guard Dai Dai Ames, along with other size and athleticism. Burton did not disappoint as he matched Ames most of the way and displayed the ability to finish in any circumstance. His change of direction off the dribble is lightning quick and creates space for himself in tight spaces.
(IU recruiting target Arrinten Page posted a huge game on Sunday)
The second April evaluation period came to an end Sunday. Here are the things that stood out to Indiana Basketball Source on the final day.
Arrinten Page is a 2023 Indiana University target and was not expected to play. He aggravated an Achilles injury on Saturday, but he played on Sunday and turned in one of the weekend's best performances. He is a strongly built six-foot-eight forward. Page is also a stellar athlete. He finished with 27 points on 11-14 shooting from the floor. He popped off the floor for dunks without any sign of injury.
Page showed a smooth shooting motion as he went four of four from the free-throw line and also made his only three-point attempt. It would have been hard for Page to play any better. He pushed The Skill Factory to an easy victory.
