Indiana Elite Team Indiana 16U
Hanner Perea 6’9 PF is an absolute beast. He is basically a longer, stronger, taller version of Branden Dawson. Explosive, huge wingspan, mega large hands that help him dunk at will. He is super raw, but if he is dedicated to getting better than the sky is the limit for Perea. Rumor is he is only looking at Indiana University and Baylor at this point in his recruiting. He tries some post moves and they look decent although he needs a lot of work with his feet and touch.
Obij Abet 7’0 C is obviously seven feet, can catch, punishes the rim on his dunks although he is as skinny as a pencil, rebounds well while keeping the ball up high, he will go get a rebound which isn’t always the case for a big guy, and he runs well. He will remind most of Purdue’s JaJuan Johnson with his frame and ability to run.
Pete Jurkin 7’0 C is built just like Abet, but Jurkin doesn’t have the hands that Abet does. Jurkin struggles with rebounding in traffic a lot more than Abet as well. Jurkin does run well, but is super raw.
Kenny Kaminski 6’8 SF Medina,OH is a really good spot-up shooter. Kaminski has the ability to put the ball on the floor, but he isn’t going to drive passed someone and get to the rim. He posted up some smaller defenders, but never showed any post moves. His quickness worries me since he likes to play on the perimeter so much. He cannot guard at SF at the high major level right now. He does have the frame to be able to guard 4’s in the future though. He could definitely be a great pick and pop 4-man.
D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera 6’3 PG North Central plays a lot more as the point guard in AAU. He does it well although he doesn’t create for others that much. He will likely be able to guard most SG’s at the high major level because of his toughness and strength. He might be the best competitor in the class of 2012 and that goes a long way. His shooting continues to improve as well.
