New Haven was led by Tyrone Kinnie with 10 points on four of six shooting.
Guerin will play the winner of Avon and Crown Point. The second game of the day featured an individual scoring battle between Brandon Peters and Grant Gelon. Peters and Gelon were hitting ahots at a high level. Gelon had 19 points at the half while Peters had 17.
Sasha Stefanovic stepped up in the third quarter for Crown Point but Avon maintained the lead. Crown Point cur rhe deficit to one with under four minutes to play. Then tied it with 2:34 before Peters buried a three on the next possession but Gelon answered right back with a three for CP. It was a breakaway dunk by Nick Jeffirs that gave Crown Point the lead. The Bulldog never relinquished the lead after that. Sasha Stefanovic sealed the game for Crown Point from the free-throw line.
Crown Point won 70-65. Grant Gelon finished with 27 points. Sasha Stefanovic added 15. Brandon Peters had 29 points in the loss.
CP will play Guerin Catholic in the semifinal tonight.
Noblesville started the game off quickly against Chesterton and never looked back. The Millers shot 61% from the field for thw game including 9 of 16 from three.
John Kiser was the catalyst early for Noblesville. He hit a number of shots in the middle of the Chesterton zone. Joey Brewer also gave Noblesville a lift in the first half.
Chris Palombizio and Rhyss Lewis had their moments for Chesterton, but it was not enough. Palombizio finished with 19 while Lewis had 12.
Jake Mills erupted in the third period. He hit five of his six three-pointers in the quarter. It was a quarter that saw Noblesville pull away from Chesterton.
Noblesville won 64-50.
Lawrence North controlled the game most of the way against Columbus East. Pat Bacon had another stellar game for LN. He finished with 23 points. Bacon was steady throughout the game.
St. Francis-bound wing Connor Umphress tried to keep East in the game. He scored the team's first 13 points of the game. Umphress ended with 20 points.
Lawrence North received a boost from Wesley Bender. The 2016 center did a good job of finishing around the basket on his way to 14 points.
Lawrence North won going away 66-52. They play Noblesville in the semis later tonight.
Guerin Catholic came out of the gates quickly in the first semifinal matchup but Crown Point was steady throughout and wore down Guerin. Crown Point advanced to the final with a 66-59 victory.
Guerin Catholic dominated the first period. It looked like they might cruise to the win, but Crown Point gathered themselves in the second quarter. The defensive pressure was increased and Guerin did not get the open looks it had in the first quarter.
Sasha Stefanovic and Nick Jeffirs were the main catalysts for Crown Point but it was a complete team effort. The Bulldogs finished with four players in double digits - Jeffirs 16, Stefanovic 14, Bonin 14 and Berquist 11. Jeffirs did a great job of containing Matt Holba. Grant Gelon hit two timely threes late in the game to give Crown Point breathing room.
Guerin Catholic had its chances until the end though. Christian Munson had 19 points on four threes. His shooting gave GC life late in the game. Matt Holba finished with 16 but had to take 20 shots to get it.
Crown Point plays the winner of Lawrence North and Noblesville in the championship game Tuesday night.
