Heritage Christian travelled to Indianapolis Howe for the quarterfinals of the Indianapolis City Tournament Thursday night. Howe advanced to the semifinals with a 98-58 victory. Evansville-bound guard Harris Brown scored 35 points to lead all scorers.
It was the Harris Brown show from start to finish in this game. He was able to get a steal and a dunk on the first possession of the game and it set the tone for the game. He scored 19 of his 35 points in the first half. Howe plays the passing lanes looking for steals and it paid off against Heritage Christian. Brown, Brian Warren and Champ McGaw collected ten steals between them.
Heritage Christian showed life in the third quarter before Howe answered back with a run of its own. Luke Warren had a nice game around the basket for Heritage Christian. He led the Eagles with 14 points. After scoring nine points in the first half, Jesse Kempson did not score in the second half.
Howe made it more of a blow out late although the game was never seriously in doubt in the second half. Freshman Tony Hopkins played well especially on the glass for Howe. He finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Howe will play Indianapolis Tech at Tech on Saturday night.
