Scecina entered Tuesday's game against Park Tudor with a record of 15-4. It is impressive considering the players that have been out lately...Delano Coffy, Gary Bonds, TJ Henderson and the transfer of Andre Jones. Henderson warmed up against Park Tudor, but he did not play. Park Tudor is the 2A favorite once again this year.
It took over six minutes of game action before Scecina made its first field goal. The pace was deliberate and neither team shot exceptionally well all night. Western Michigan-bound guard Bryce Moore was able to get some shots to fall in order to give Park Tudor a two point lead going into the locker room for halftime.
Scecina was not in a bad position after two quarters of play. The Rutland twins - Zach and Josh - have been the heart for Scecina for four years. It is rare that both have a down game on the same night. They combined for just six points in the first half. That gave Scecina optimism.
Park Tudor was able to contain Zach Rutland and Josh Rutland in the second half as well though. Zach spent much of the late game on the bench with an apparent neck injury. That is partly why Scecina ended with 31 points. Jaren Jackson and Evan Frank did a good job of controlling the paint on both ends of the floor. Jackson ended with just six points but he also had six rebounds and four blocks.
Park Tudor won going away 41-31. Bryce Moore led all scorers with 15 points. DaKwon Brooks led Scecina with 13 points and five rebounds. Park Tudor takes on Broad Ripple on Saturday. Scecina faces Irvington Prep next Tuesday.
